WC26 is an independent, non-commercial fan project for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to FIFA, ESPN, or any team. This page explains, in plain English, what data is involved when you use the site.

What we collect

• No account, no personal data. You don't sign up or log in, and we don't ask for your name, email, or any personal information.
• On-device preferences. Your choices (sound on/off, the team you support) are saved in your browser's localStorage — they stay on your device and are never sent to us.
• Anonymous, aggregate analytics. We use privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Analytics) to count page views and understand which pages are popular. It does not identify you.

Advertising & affiliate links

• We may display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and personalise ads based on your prior visits. You can control personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and learn more in Google's advertising policy.
• We may include affiliate links (e.g. Amazon Associates). If you buy something through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Where the data comes from

Scores, fixtures, standings and player data are pulled from publicly available ESPN feeds. Derived values such as player ratings and momentum are our own estimates, clearly labelled "est." — they are not official.

Third parties

The site runs on Vercel (hosting + analytics) and Railway (data backend). If enabled, Google (ads) and Amazon (affiliate links) are also involved as described above. Each has its own privacy policy.

Your choices

• Clear the site's stored preferences any time by clearing your browser's site data.
• Manage ad personalisation via the Google link above, or use your browser's privacy controls.
